Discover picturesque Lake Hume, which holds six times as much water as the Sydney Harbour. The Hume Dam was the Commonwealth Government’s most ambitious public project at the time and took 17 years to build. Lake Hume is a mecca for water lovers providing a year round playground.
There are many picnic and camping sites on the shores of the Lake for the lovers of the great outdoors and countless sandy beaches to soak up the sun and ski off. Fishing for Murray Cod, Golden Perch and Brim is also a very popular pastime, as is sailing, jet skiing and wind surfing. It is the perfect place for a picnic and a cool drink and just to relax amongst the river gums.
